A little bit about me…
I’m a wife, a mom to three young kids, a professional life coach, and a licensed mental health therapist. I was born and raised in Minnesota and have a love for anything active and outdoors, including running, biking, walking my beloved dog Sadie, boating, and soaking up the sunshine. Exercising, shopping, dining, traveling and spending time with my family are my favorite past times. As a therapist and a coach, I make it a priority to practice what I preach and do my best to live a life of wellness and balance.
Why I started coaching and chose to focus on stay-at-home moms…
I have been fortunate enough to have periods in my life when I was able to stay home with my kids. There were, of course, many things I loved and appreciated about being able to do this, but I also experienced some feelings of social isolation, lack of time to do things for myself, guilt for not being a financial contributor, and missing the sense of professional achievement.
Moms don’t always talk about these struggles. After experiencing these feelings and treating several therapy clients in my private practice who are SAHMs, I realized the things I had experienced were not very unusual. There are many moms who could benefit more from coaching in this area than receiving and treating a mental health diagnosis.
Why choose me as a coach?
I have been a mental health therapist for 13 years and have owned my own thriving practice for over 10 years. I have already been using coaching tools in my therapy practice for years prior to becoming certified as a professional coach. This has meant holding clients’ agendas and getting them to move forward in their goals to make improvements in their lives. For a full list of my credentials, please visit the FAQ page.
I am friendly, cheerful, positive and empathetic. I make people feel comfortable. I am also assertive, open, honest, non-judgmental and not afraid to ask the hard, thought-provoking questions that really get my clients to think and be more open to addressing their challenges and barriers. I firmly believe that everyone has gifts and strengths. This belief makes me effective in helping clients recognize and strive to reach their full potential.
